2、Science and Technology Council BackgroundThe NSTC was established byExecutive Order on November 23,1993.The NSTC is a cabinet-level council of advisers to the President on science and technology(S&T),established to achieve the following functions:To coordinate the S&T policy-making process;To ensure

3、 that S&T policy decisions and programs are consistent with the Presidents policy priorities;To integrate the Presidents S&T policy agenda across the Federal Government;To ensure that S&T are considered in developing and implementing Federal policies and programs;and to further international S&T coo

4、peration.2White House Office of Science and Technology Policy(OSTP)OSTPs mission includes:Providing advice to the President and the Executive Office of the President on matters related to science and technology;Strengthening and advancing American science and technology;Working with federal departme
