In recent years, with the rapid economic growth, the demand for energy construction is also increasing, and steel, as an important building material, plays a key role in energy construction. In this paper, the use of steel in energy construction in China will be analyzed from three aspects, types, consumption and forecasts.
First of all, steel refers to metal mainly composed of iron, of which the main types are carbon steel, stainless steel and alloy steel. Among them, carbon steel has certain advantages in processing performance, strength and price, and is widely used in energy construction as the main material; stainless steel has characteristics of strong corrosion resistance and good thermal conductivity, which is paid much attention to in the production of large and medium-sized thermal power plant flue gas emission system; alloy steel is also applied in some engineering projects where high temperature may occur. It can be seen from this that different types of steel have different uses in energy construction and play their own unique role.
Secondly, in recent years, due to the vigorous development of energy construction, the actual steel consumption in our country has been relatively high. According to the relevant data, up to December 2018, the total amount of actual steel consumption in China this year was about 324.50 billion tons, among which the steel consumption of state-owned and state-controlled enterprises was about 121 billion tons, and that of non-state-controlled enterprises was about 203.5 billion tons, indicating that in recent years, the steel consumption in energy construction in China has been increasing.
In summary, the steel consumption in energy construction in our country has been increasing rapidly in recent years, different types of steel have different uses, and they are important building materials. It is predicted that the energy construction will maintain a good development trend in the future, the steel consumption will continue to maintain a stable upward trend, and the steel consumption in energy construction in China will exceed 38 billion tons in 2023. At the same time, efforts should be made to increase the research and development of low-carbon environmental protection steel to promote the sustainable development of energy construction.
