2、 really exciting work weve been doing in the Immigration space.Its exciting because we are the lynch pin between every one of the ministers that you will hear from today.They need me;Because Immigration is an absolutely crucial ingredient for delivering the pipeline of infrastructure projects that l
3、ies ahead of us.Its my job to ensure that my colleagues,businesses and investors have every confidence to embark on these projects knowing and trusting that there is ready access to the skill and talent they need from around the world.We do have incredibly talented,creative,hardworking Kiwis here in
4、 New Zealand but we so often need to supplement this with key workers from around the world to support our ambitious growth agenda.2 That being the case:1.We need to have competitive offerings to attract workers to New Zealand.2.Our Visa settings need to be attractive to Migrants and they need to wo
5、rk for Business.3.And we need to have efficient and streamlined processes so that we can get talent in the country as quickly as possible.Because while we are an incredibly attractive country for migrant workers to choose to move to We are of course very aware that there are many other destinations
6、competing for their skill.Migrants have choices.And despite the many creepy crawlies that will kill you across the ditch we are in direct competition with countries like Australia in a world that is a fierce battle for talent.We must be competitive.That is why New Zealand offers what we call our Gre
