3、was incorporated under its present title by Royal Charter in 1920.A supplementalcharter was granted in 1993 describing the MRCs new mission following the 1993 Government WhitePaper on Science and Technology.The MRCs Royal Charter and Mission were amended in July 2003.The MRC receives an annual grant
4、-in-aid from Parliament through the Office of Science and Technology(OST)and funds from other sources including government departments,international agencies,industryand medical research charities.The MRC Mission statement(in its shortened form)from July 2003 is to:Encourage and support high-quality
