3、 incorporated under its present title by Royal Charter in 1920.A supplemental charter was granted in 1993 describing the MRCs new mission following the 1993 government white paper on Science and Technology.The MRCs Royal Charter and Mission were amended in July 2003.The MRC receives an annual grant-
4、in-aid from Parliament through the Office of Science and Innovation(OSI),formerly the Office of Science and Technology,and funds from other sources including government departments,international agencies,industry and medical research charities.The MRCs strategic aims are developed in consultation wi
5、th stakeholders and with reference to the mission enshrined in the MRC Charter and to the objectives set out in the Government Science Budget allocations for the period 2003/04 to 2005/06.They also contribute to the OSI Public Service Agreement target of improving the international performance of th
