4、ynopsys the preferred design partnerfor leading semiconductor and electronic systems companies.Here is a summary of our results for the year:Financial PerformanceSynopsys concluded fiscal 2001 with revenue of$680.4 millionand net income,on an earnings before goodwill(EBG)basis,of$71.0 million,or$1.1

5、0 per share.In fiscal 2000,revenue and net income on an EBG basis were$783.8 million and$112.3million,or$1.58 per share,respectively.(EBG representsearnings on a diluted basis,excluding amortization of intangibleassets and in-process research and development.)Fiscal 2001 was the first full year unde

6、r our technology subscrip-tion license(TSL)model.For the year,80 percent of our softwarelicenses were TSLs.With the TSL model,Synopsys customerspay to use our software for specific periods of time,usually three to four years.Subscription license revenue is recognizedover the term of the license,not
