1、2022 Annual Report2nationalforests.orgWe are excited to share our fiscal year 2022 annual report.This year we began imple-mentation of a three-year strategic plan that focuses on growth.The focus on growth is not for growths sake.It is to meet the growing needs on the landscape and within communitie

2、s where we focus.Through the project highlights in this report,you will catch a small glimpse of the work we are accomplishing under our new plan.The plan is organized in three large buckets of work.Over the course of this year,and the next two,we will triple our investments in forest restoration,tr

3、iple our investments in recreation infrastructure,and triple the number of people that engage with us in the stewardship and enjoyment of National Forests and Grasslands.In this report you will read about forest restoration work on Bald Mountain in the Sawtooth National Forest in Idaho.This work not

4、 only improves the resiliency of the forest,it improves and protects the local ski runs that the community depends on,and provides essential fuelwood for the Shoshone Paiute and Shoshone Bannock Tribes.You will also read about trail improvements we undertook with local partners on the White Mountain

5、 National Forest in New Hampshire,and our work on the North Umpqua Trail in western Oregon that was badly damaged by fire and landslides in 2020 and 2021.As you read through the report,you will also see the type of work we do through our Conservation Connect program.This program serves community-bas
