FEMA为 equitable distribution of COVID-19 vaccines 做出了很多努力。FEMA has established the Civil Rights Advisory Group to evaluate policies and strategies to ensure equity in vaccine access. The advisory group is led by several agencies, including FEMA’s Office of Equal Rights, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, CDC, HHS Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response, Administration for Community Living, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the U.S. Department of Justice, and DHS Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties. According to Acting FEMAAdministrator Bob Fenton, statistics from the CDC show that African Americans are twice as likely than Caucasians to die of COVID-19, and Hispanics are 2.3 times more likely to die of the virus. In order to ensure equitable access to vaccines, FEMA is analyzing data and collaborating with states, territories, tribes, and local public health officials to determine the best locations for FEMA pilot community vaccination centers. FEMA also prioritizes the needs of people with disabilities and uses population data and CDC’s Social Vulnerability Index to identify communities for pilot community vaccination centers. The agency is working with CDC staff and public health officials to engage community and faith-based organizations to help reach underserved, hesitant, and historically marginalized groups. Finally, FEMA encourages people to find vaccine updates and information from their local health department and visit FEMA.Gov for information on FEMA’s vaccination support efforts.
