3、ded to include regulations for the United States,the United Kingdom,Canada,Mexico and Australia.Looking at the many regulations that define how motor vehicles should be built and approved,I cannot stress enough the importance of a harmonised regulatory framework that allows for innovation and invest

4、ment across our industry.Indeed,the European automotive industry is one of the most heavily regulated sectors in Europe with more than 150 EU Regulations and 30 Directives covering the sectors activities.That is why ACEA has long been advocating the need for smarter,rather than simply more,legislati

5、on.To give you an example,with over 60 different safety regulations in the EU,83 at UNECE level and 40 for the seven Gulf countries,the harmonisation of procedures and standards is much needed to further advance the global objective of reducing road fatalities to zero in the future.And the same appl
