3、nmental regulations.This report assesses trends in Chinas HDV market between 2014 and 2024,a critical period for technological and regulatory developments in the industry.More specifically,this report surveys the evolution of diesel HDV sales,vehicle specifications,emissions performance,and the mark
4、et structure of fuel supply and transmission technologies for HDVs.This analysis finds that diesel vehicles continue to dominate the HDV sector in China,although natural gas and battery electric vehicles have seen notable growth in market share in recent years.In terms of vehicle specifications,the
5、HDV industry has shown a marked divergence between trucks and tractors on the one hand and buses and coaches on the other.As illustrated in Figure ES1,between 2014 and 2024,trucks and tractors saw considerable increases in engine power(+41%)and engine displacement(+2%);for buses and coaches,engine p
6、ower grew by 15%.Power density,which indicates higher efficiency of power output,rose in all categories;simultaneously,fuel consumption decreased in all heavy vehicle categories,demonstrating the effect of more stringent fuel consumption regulations in recent years.While most of these specifications
