2、Most of all,our sponsors Croxsons and every SIBA member whose sharing of data allows us to speak with authority.Nomenclature is important.When SIBA first launched the“Craft Beer Report”,as it was originally called,it was with the intention of commenting on the local independent brewery sector.Over r
3、ecent years global brewers have purchased successful independent breweries around the world and integrated them into their stable of internationally recognised brands.The UK is no different,the majority of the top 10 UK“craft”brands now owned by global brewers.Consumer awareness of this is low,and c
4、oncerningly,amongst beer drinkers who were asked,81%of them say they felt“misled”when they discovered beers they thought were independent werent.SIBAs Indie Beer Campaign is all about those drinkers who want to support independent brewers being able to do so with confidence.Indie Beer was our most s
5、uccessful launch ever,with over 500 breweries now actively supporting us with the inaugural Indie Beer Week seeing brewery events take place across the UK.Most reassuringly,31%of 18-24-year-olds we surveyed already recognised the“IB”brand.A very encouraging figure for such a young campaign and proof
6、 of SIBAs strength when members get behind a common cause.These are challenging and changing times for the world but what motivates me about our sector is that demand for what we do remains strong against pretty much every measure you care to look at.Making sustainable profits from that demand remai
