3、o recap,whileChatGPT was released near the end of 2022,AI-related patent applications published by theEuropean Patent Office(EPO)rose from less than 2000 per year in 2015 to over 8000 per year by2021.As of the end of 2023,that number stands at over 10000 per year.However,as we showed inour last repo
4、rt,while still growing,the rate of growth in AI patent filings in Europe is beginning to slow(see section 1.below).For this years report,we wanted to do something a little different and explore the interactionbetween AI and Intellectual Property(IP)when it comes to one of the greatest challenges tha
5、thumanity currently faces the need to transition to more environmentally friendly technologies.Muchhas already been written about possible ways in which AI can both help and harm our transition to agreener,less environmentally damaging future,but we believe that AI is going to play a fundamentalrole
