3、nable time becomes challenging. For example, testing receivers at 32 Gbd with all 40-symbol sequences takes 1 minute for NRZ,but a million years for PAM4.For this reason, compliance testing becomes insufficient one can neither measure long-term pre-FEC BER,nor identify the causes of receiver errors. We
4、introduced the Self-adapting Tool for Automated Receiver Testing(START)to make robust Rx testing possible in a reasonable time.START performs detailed error analysis, identifies the likely error cause, generates the worst-case test pattern, and assesses long-term pre-FEC BER.Building on last years mode
5、ling results, this paper presents START results across several physical setups and demonstrates STARTs accuracy in identifying the causes of errors. We also examine the theoretical foundation of START.Author(s)Biography Anton Unakafov is a scientist at BitifEye,where he leads test&measurement research
