In 2019, the estimated global public energy RD&D budget reached about USD30.4billion9(Figure9), confirmingtheincreasingtrendsince2017afterseveralyearsofdecline.Thegrowthwasmostlysu
8、pported byEuropeandtheUnitedStates,whilepublicspendinginenergyR&DstabilisedinChinaaftertwoyearsof stronggrowthandaheadofthecountrysnextfiveyearplan.
