层状过渡金属氧化物应用相对成熟和广泛,主要有 O3 型和 P2 型,两种类型各有优势。钠离子在层状材料中迁移的扩散势垒比锂离子低,层状化合物作为储钠材料非常有优势,因此层状过渡金属氧化物通常成为钠离子电池正极材料的首选。层状过渡金属氧化物结构通式一般为 NaxTMO(2 x≤1,TM 为 Ni、Mn、Fe、Co、Cu 等 3d 过渡金属的一种或几种)。根据 Na+的配位环境及 O 的堆积方式,可以将层状氧化物材料分为 O3、P3、P2、O2 等不同类型,其中钠离子电池层状氧化物正极材料大多以 O3 和 P2 两种结构存在。O3 型和 P2 型各有优势,O3 型具有更多的钠位,可以提供更多的钠离子,因此具有更高的理论容量和更高的初始库伦效率,P2 型结构更稳定,钠离子迁移的扩散势垒比 O3 型低,因此具有更好的离子导电性和倍率性能。目前主流钠离子电池厂家如中科海钠、钠创新能源、英国 FARADION 公司等都采用了层状金属氧化物路线。
