3、he share of natural gas in Indias energy portfolio,the need for top-notch infrastructure is more urgent than ever.Indias gas pipeline infrastructure has expanded considerably in recent decades,with over 24,945 km of working pipes.1 The National Gas Grid,with the objective of increasing inter-regiona

4、l connectivity and the smooth transport of gas all over the nation along with the development of regional pipelines,is central to facilitating the increased consumption of gas especially in the power,industrial and transportation sectors.The governments efforts to expand the number of City Gas Distr

5、ibution(CGD)geographical areas have resulted in the fast-paced growth of piped natural gas(PNG)for homes and compressed natural gas(CNG)for automobiles in urban and semi-urban towns.This expansion is a part of Indias overall vision to bring the percentage of natural gas in its energy basket from 6.2
