2、tive communication systems.In a MultiGBase-T1 link,data is transferred simultaneously bi-directionally(SBD)at 10/5/2.5 Gbps over a single shielded twisted-pair(STP)cable.Echo cancellation must be performed in the bi-directional transceiver to remove the outgoing signal from the incoming one.When sim
3、ulating such systems,it is essential to model the cancellation behavior accurately to obtain reliable assessment of link performance.In this paper we present an IBIS-AMI based approach to model the echo cancellation process and enable bi-directional link AMI simulation.In our approach,TX and RX bloc
4、ks of the transceiver are modeled by two separate AMI models.The Hybrid block of the transceiver that couples TX,RX and the channel is modeled by S-parameters.The RX DLL includes gain control,equalization and clock-data-recovery(CDR)blocks as well as the digital echo cancellation(DEC)block.During si
5、mulation,the TX AMI_GetWave function writes the TX input or output(or both)waveform(s)to a file,from which the RX AMI_GetWave function reads the data and performs echo cancellation.The approach is demonstrated with 10GBase-T1 channel examples.Simulation results and impacts of echo on link performanc
