1、2019 Europe Market ReportEUROPE MARKETS 2019In 2019,European ocean cruise passenger numbers grew by 7.5%from 2018,to 7.7 million,following a 3%growth the prior year.New ships were launched in Germany and Italy,resulting in double-digit growth for these two key European markets.Strong growth was seen
2、 in cruise passengers traveling to the Eastern Mediterranean,up 17%to 874,000 passengers,which solidifies the return to confidence in the region.Other areas seeing significant growth,from a smaller base,include the Canary Islands,up 13%,and the Baltics,up 15%.While the European market experienced gr
3、owth in 2019,the emergence of COVID-19 in 2020 led the cruise industry to take immediate and aggressive actionwhich culminated in a global pause in operations in mid-March.Following the pause in operations,with strict protocols in place,and with the approval and support of local and regional authori
